2026 Juried Student Art Exhibition

A tradition of LBCC, the Student Art Exhibition features the most exceptional artists from LBCC’s Visual and Media Arts department. A total of $2,000 in prizes will be awarded to three exceptional artists. 

The Juried Student Art Exhibition bridges the gap between academic learning and professional practice, preparing students for careers in the arts while enriching the cultural fabric of the college and community. 

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, Feb 28 | 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. 

CLOSING RECEPTION AND AWARD CEREMONY: Thur., March 26 | 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

2026 Student Art Prize Jury 

Selene Preciado is a Los Angeles–based contemporary art curator specializing in Latin American and diasporic perspectives. As Curator and Director of Programs at LACE, she develops research-driven exhibitions exploring memory, language, and culture. Her background includes work with the Getty, MOCA, MOLAA, and major binational projects, highlighting experimental, collaborative, and transcultural art practices.

 LBCC Art Gallery located at 4901 E Carson St, Long Beach, CA 90808, Building K 

Google maps tip: Type directions to the Viking Bookstore (4250 Faculty Ave bldg i, Long Beach, CA 90808) the art gallery is south of the bookstore.

Parking: $2 a day in Lots C, D, and E
