Nominate Your Black/African American Heroes for the LBCC 1865 Awards!

Event

Now is the time to honor your Black/African American heroes by nominating them for a 2025 1865 Award. LBCC’s 1865 Awards were established in June 2023 to celebrate not only Juneteenth, but also to honor a Black/African American LBCC student, a Black/African American staff or faculty member, and a Black/African American community member who exemplifies a commitment to the Black/African American community through service.

Get details and nominate:

  • a student for the 1865 LBCC Student Award here,
  • a faculty or a staff member for the 1865 Courageous Leader Award here, and
  • a community member for the 1865 Empowerment Award here.

The deadline for submissions is Fri., May 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

The 1865 Award recipients will be announced and honored at LBCC’s annual Juneteenth celebration on Wed., June 18, 2025, at 12 p.m. in W-201, LAC.
