You are invited to the closing reception and art award ceremony for the Annual Student Art Exhibition!
The exhibition is a proud tradition of the Visual and Media Arts department at LBCC, showcasing over 180 artworks created by our top students. These pieces have been meticulously selected by our faculty to highlight the finest work produced in our classrooms over the academic year.

Event Highlights:

  • Over 180 artworks on display in ceramics, jewelry and metal smithing, painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art. 
  • Works selected by LBCC Visual and Media Arts faculty
  • Introduction of the first-ever Student Art Award 
  • The prize was juried by curators Andres Payan of the Craft Contemporary and Paul Loya of the Long Beach Museum of Art, and others. 
  • $2,000 in prizes to be awarded
  • Student ceramics and jewelry sale from 12-3pm!

The award ceremony and closing reception will take place on Sat., June 1 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. The event will also include a jewelry and ceramic sale! Where patrons can purchase student-made jewelry and ceramics directly from our students. 

Schedule

12:00 p.m.          Jewelry and Ceramics sale starts. 
01:00 p.m.          Art Gallery opens
02:00 p.m.         Award ceremony starts
03:00 p.m.         Reception, award ceremony and sale conclude.
