Exciting improvements are underway at Long Beach City College! As construction continues, we know that changes to parking, walkways, and access around campus may be inconvenient. We appreciate your patience as we work to make LBCC an even better place to learn, work, and connect. 

During construction, some parking lots and pedestrian pathways may be temporarily impacted. There are still plenty of parking options available, and the map below can help you find the best place to park and the recommended pathway to campus. 

LBCC will communicate significant changes and temporary closures as they occur.

Where to Park 

Lot M — Recommended Parking 

Located south of Veterans Stadium, Lot M is the recommended parking option for students and visitors. The northern portion of Lot M surrounding the construction area is closed. However, the southern portion will remain open throughout construction, with a minimum of 1,741 parking spaces available at all times. Access the lot from Conant Street and Faculty Avenue. 

Four additional temporary ADA-accessible parking spaces will also be installed while existing ADA-accessible spaces in Lot M are impacted by construction. 

From Lot M, pedestrians can access the main campus via: Viking Way, located west of the softball and baseball fields; or Faculty Avenue, between East Lew Davis and Conant St.  

Sections of the southern portion of Lot M may be temporarily closed for parking re-striping but will reopen promptly once work is completed and inspected. To minimize disruptions, re-striping is planned to take place after hours and on weekends. 

Parking Structure 1 (PS1) – Next Best Option 

Student parking is also available in Parking Structure 1 (PS1) and serves as an alternative to Lot M during construction. Access the lot from Lew Davis or from Clark Ave.  

Lot P – Additional Parking Spots 

Additional student parking is available in Lot P, located south of the tennis and volleyball courts. Enter lot from Faculty Ave.

Other Parking Options:

• Staff and Student Parking (Limited space) : Lot D, H, I
• Student Parking: Lot E, Lot F

For Employees — Additional Parking 

Additional parking spaces are also available at Lot M. Pedestrians can access campus using the designated Viking Way walkway between Veterans Stadium and the softball and baseball fields, or the Faculty Way Pedestrian Path. 

Getting to Campus from Lot M 

Students, employees, and visitors can use two designated pathways to travel between Lot M and the main campus. Please follow posted wayfinding signs to access both routes safely.  

Viking Walkway 

Pedestrians can travel north/south from Lot M along Viking Way, located between Veterans Stadium and the softball and baseball fields. 

Faculty Pedestrian Walkway

A new Faculty Pedestrian Walkway will provide another safe and convenient route between Lot M and the main campus. Located along Faculty Avenue, between East Lew Davis and Conant St., this designated pedestrian pathway will remain open throughout construction and provide an additional northbound route to campus.  

Construction Safety and Updates 

Parking areas and pedestrian pathways may close temporarily as construction equipment enters and exits work areas. Conditions may change as work progresses.

A construction fence is being installed around the project perimeter, and wayfinding signs will be posted throughout campus and parking areas to help direct you to available parking and pedestrian routes during construction. 

Please follow posted wayfinding signs directing you safely around the construction area and do not enter fenced areas. 

All construction vehicles will use dedicated routes at Faculty Avenue and Gate F to minimize impacts on campus traffic.
