How to Apply: F-1 International Students
Steps and requirements for admission to Long Beach City College in F-1 student status.

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in becoming an international student at Long Beach City College (LBCC).

Please note: You must first be admitted to the International Student Program before you can complete enrollment at LBCC.

This application is intended for students who will study at LBCC in F-1 student status.

Do not use this application if you are:

  • A U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder)
  • An asylum seeker or refugee
  • A U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • A student in another visa category that does not require an F-1 student visa

If you fall into one of these categories, please apply through the standard LBCC admissions process.

Application Process (for International Students)

Follow these initial steps to apply to the Long Beach City College International Student Program:

Step 1: Complete the Online Application

Submit your initial application through the LBCC International Student Application Portal.

Step 2: Pay the Application Fee

A non-refundable $40.00 USD application fee is required.

After submitting your application, check your email for a confirmation number.

Use your confirmation number to pay the fee through the online portal. (To prevent duplicate charges, submit your payment only once.)

Step 3: Upload Required Documents

Upload each required document individually in PDF format directly to your application portal.

All documents written in languages other than English must include a certified English translation

Note: Each required document must be uploaded through your online application individually in PDF form with Certified English Translation. Paper documents and hard copies of photos will not be accepted.

Step 4: Track Status

Monitor your email and application portal regularly for updates, requests for additional documents, and your admission status.

Step 5: Complete State & College Forms

Once your International Student Program application and supporting documents have been approved, complete the California Community Colleges (CCCApply) and Long Beach City College admissions application.

Step 6: Finalize Admission & Visa

After all admissions requirements have been satisfied, your Letter of Admission and Form I-20 will be emailed to you. If you are applying from outside the United States, schedule your U.S. Embassy or Consulate visa appointment as soon as possible. Throughout the process, stay in regular communication with the Designated School Official (DSO) and the International Student Services Office regarding your progress and next steps
