Long Beach City College (LBCC) is aware of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in surrounding cities. Our emergency response team is in contact with city officials and is closely monitoring the situation.
At LBCC, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for every member of our community, especially for our undocumented students, employees, and their families during this time.
We are committed to safeguarding student rights and providing relevant information as we have. In keeping with our values, LBCC ensures:
- Student Privacy: Student personal and educational information is protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Immigration Status Protection: In compliance with the Long Beach Values Act, LBCC will not release student information to immigration enforcement authorities without a valid subpoena or court order.
- Non-Discrimination: LBCC does not inquire about citizenship or immigration status except as required for financial aid or tuition determination.
- Protocol for Immigration Enforcement Activities. Should ICE or other Federal Law Enforcement officials enter campus, remain calm, and immediately contact the Office of the President at (562) 938-4122.

During these challenging times, please be aware of the LBCC resources available to both our students and our employees, including:
- Mental Health Services – If you are a student experiencing a crisis or need to speak with a mental health clinician, contact Student Health Services at (562) 938-4210 (LAC) or (562) 938-3992 (TTC). Employees can receive assistance through our Employee Assistance Program.
- Counseling – If you are in need to speak to someone related to your classes or walk through educational options based on what you may be experiencing, please contact the department heads of Counseling, Jose Gutierrez at (562) 938-4151 (TTC), or Phillip Huerta at (562) 938-4264 (LAC). LBCC will be increasing our Counseling services during the Summer Session to better support our students.
