A new Stadium and Athletic Sports Complex (SASC) will provide a state-of-the-art facility that consolidates the decentralized components of the current athletic facilities, such as the Kinesiology Lab and Aquatic Center (KLAC) and baseball/softball fields, into one location. The new facility, with a total project budget of $250 million, will comply with NCAA competition guidelines and become an inviting and iconic destination for the greater Long Beach community. This new construction project will feature a new stadium that pays homage to the spirit of the Veteran’s Memorial Stadium it replaces; fields for football, soccer and track and field; and new athletic, fitness and classroom spaces designed to create a safe and engaging student environment.
