On any given day, Stella Ursua, President of Green Education, Inc. and Principal at Stellar Organizational Development, LLC, can be found in the community, working to build more awareness for social issues such as environmental health, sustainable, green neighborhoods and careers, the transformation from fossil fuels to clean energy, and ensuring that community members have access to the education, knowledge and skills that will help them thrive in a green collar economy.

Stella worked successfully for 25+ years in Leadership & Employee Development, Instructional Design, Human Resources and Workforce Development, leading national training and education functions for several Fortune 500 and non-profit organizations. She has designed and launched leadership and employee development curriculums, and created innovative outreach efforts, including founding Long Beach’s largest yearly Earth Day event, the Green Prize Festival, which recognizes local sustainability leaders, industry experts, green entrepreneurs and artists, and promotes the transformation of communities to more sustainable, healthier and equitable environments.

As President of Green Education Inc., Stella conducts hundreds of workshops and events yearly, geared towards educating underserved communities, especially young adults, veterans, women and unemployed/underemployed individuals in skills-based and green industry training and internship opportunities. In prior assignments, Stella created/launched the first green jobs training/placement program for a national veterans organization and was successful in providing 45 recently returned Iraq & Afghanistan veterans with access to green industry skills and knowledge with which to enter the solar power, energy efficiency and green building industries.

Stella received her B.S. in Organizational Management at the University of La Verne, and completed her LEED Green Associate Accreditation and Green Classroom Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council.

Stella is extremely active in her community, currently serving as a Commissioner for Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine, is a member of the Long Beach Community College District Citizens Oversight Committee, and Chair of the Neighborhoods Workgroup at Building Healthy Communities-Long Beach. She is also a board member of The LGBTQ Center-Long Beach.

Stella served as a Board member with the Long Beach Lambda Democratic Club and is a member of numerous local Democratic clubs.
