Movies for Mental Health
Health Services Workshops
This workshop uses film and media to initiate dialogue on the topic of mental health, and reflect on messages we receive from media influence our perceptions of mental illnexx. The main goal of the workshop is to reduce stigma around mental health issues and mental health illness, creating a culture in which we can speak openly about our experience.
The second half of the workshop is a panel discussion connecting student to resources available to them, typically including a mental health clinician from the school and someone from the off campus mental health community.

Note: All Workshops are drop-in (no sign-up necessary). If you will be referring your class to a workshop being held on a specific day/time, please contact Daisy Cook, LCSW, workshop coordinator, to ensure space and sufficient materials are available for the presentation. We have found that offering extra credit is a really powerful way to give students the extra reason they need to attend these workshops that allows them both to benefit from the program and “save face” if they’re questioned about why they want to attend.
