effort to comply with Long Beach City College’s efforts to reduce
the number of events where a large mass of people are gathered to
help slow the COVID-19 outbreak, we are postponing the Long Beach
Reads One Book event scheduled for Thursday, March 19,

*Attendance is required for students who will enroll in the course Intro to Elementary Teaching (EDUC 20) or Intro to Teaching and Learning (EDUC 10).

Viking Drumming Circle
Bring your own drum or any percussion instrument
Join us and come have FUN drumming to your natural human beat. Drumming has a positive effect to your health by reducing tension, anxiety, stress and chronic pain. Research and studies have discovered that through mindful drumming emotional healing can occur and give students an outlet to express difficult emotions. Drumming circle is an effective tool in bringing unity to learn and practice mental health coping and healing together creatively in a non-judgmental environment.

The LBCC Symphony Orchestra will be hosting a musical performance of folks songs and dances on Friday, March 23 at Hughes Middle School. The performance will feature the following artists:

90th Anniversary Celebration Gala
Long Beach City College will be holding their 90th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, June 16 at 5:30 pm.
Wings of Armageddon
Meet the Author
Meet the author of Wings of Armageddon, Richard Montalvo Jr. who was a B-52G aircraft commander, flight commander, and assistant operations officer. Hear his description of his journey from the grape fields of the San Joaquin Valley, where he worked as a Mexican American migrant worker, to the cockpit of America’s most lethal aerial weapons system.
Fall Dance Ensemble 2017
Long Beach City College and the Associated Student Body proudly present the Fall Dance Ensemble in Concert 2017. This performance is directed by Martha L.Z. Pamintuan and features both faculty and student choreographers.
The show will run November 30 – December 1 at 7:00 pm at the Downey Theater. Tickets are available for $17.00 and can be purchased online.
