The Reading Department’s mission is to instruct students in the reading strategies that will help them meet Long Beach City College’s reading proficiency requirement for a degree, as well as help them become critical readers of text across all disciplines. Knowing the text-based challenges awaiting students in college and the workplace, our program offers a rigorous and research-based curriculum.
