Adult Learners (PASO & SCAN) are hosting three Summer Bridge sessions this August 2025

The Postsecondary Achievement and Success Opportunity (PASO) and Success and Completion Achievement Network (SCAN) programs are hosting three Summer Bridge sessions this August 2025. The 2-day Summer Bridge program is designed to help first-time college students, particularly Adult Learners like yourself who did not come to college directly from high school, get a head start in acclimating to college life and becoming familiar with Long Beach City College resources. 

Session 1: Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 10am-3pm & Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 10am-3pm (LAC, W-201) 
Session 2: Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 10am-3pm & Thursday, Aug. 21 from 10am-3pm (LAC, W-201) 
Session 3: Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10am-3pm & Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10am-3pm (LAC, W-201) 

Program Highlights: 

The Summer Bridge program will provide engaging workshops tailored to enhance Adult Learners’ success, such as:   

• How to leverage the Peer Navigator and Advisor relationships for maximum support to enhance student success 
• Online learning (understanding modalities, learning management systems e.g. Canvas, accessing online services) 
• Online Educations Resources (OER, e.g. free textbooks) and Library Services 
• How to use the course mapper, program (major) guides, and Degree Planner 
• Time management and study skills 
• How to access financial aid, scholarships, basic need assistance, and childcare services 
• Transfer requirements and process
