APID Heritage Month Kickoff Event

We welcome you to join us in person as we celebrate and highlight the community and many families within our diverse and vibrant cultural group. Learn about the various resources available on campus, enjoy some food, giveaways, music, and more!
Weekly APID Podcast Series

Overcoming Boundaries of Health: Chinese Herbal Medicine in a Latinx Community

The Centro de Medicina China offers holistic and alternative medicine and healing. The practice, dealing in Chinese herbs and acupuncture, serves the predominantly Latinx community of Huntington Park. Attendees will not only learn about Chinese herbs and acupuncture, but how Mr. Ricardo Con has broken down cultural barriers to treat chronic, difficult to treat and diagnose diseases and conditions for his community.

Grab a blanket, pull up a chair, and join us in the E quad at the Liberal Arts Campus for a movie screening under the stars! Tonight, we will be showing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Watch as Shang-Chi, the master of weaponry-based Kung Fu, is forced to combat his past after being drawn into the Ten Rings organization.

An Afternoon of Inspiration with Mahesh Balasooriya

Mahesh Balasooriya is an American born Sri Lankan Grammy nominated pianist. A student of Classical and Jazz piano, he has won numerous awards and accolades as well as toured with a number of major artists, including but not limited to: Natalie Cole, Stanley Clarke, Stevie Wonder, and Christian McBride. Performing with world-class symphonies and big bands, Mahesh is making his way to LBCC to share his love and passion for music with you! Come listen to Mahesh perform pieces paying homage to musical artists within the APID community and share his journey in the industry.
