The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) is a supplemental component of EOPS that specifically assists students who are single parents or heads of household receiving cash aid through CalWORKs/TANF.

The Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) is a supplemental component of EOPS that specifically assists students who are single parents or heads of household receiving cash aid through CalWORKs/TANF. CARE offers supportive services, so students can acquire the education, training, and marketable skills needed to transition from public assistance to employment and self-sufficiency.

In addition to all EOPS benefits and services CARE students also receive:

  • Agency & County Referrals
  • CARE Grants (additional requirements)

  • Single Parent Conferences

CARE Eligibility Requirements

New Students

  • Must be eligible and meet all EOPS eligibility requirements
  • Submit a CARE Application and Verification of Benefits Form
  • Complete mandatory intake with a CARE Support Staff
  • Currently receiving CalWORKs/TANF cash aid for yourself and/or your children
  • Must be declared single head of household declared by CalWORKs/TANF
  • Parent must be 18 years old or older
  • Have at least one child under the age of 18

Continuing Students

  • Must be an active student and in compliance with EOPS
  • Currently receiving CalWORKs/TANF cash aid for yourself and/or your children
  • Must be declared single head of household declared by CalWORKs/TANF
  • Parent must be 18 years old or older
  • Have at least one child under the age of 18
  • Submit a CARE Application and Verification of Benefits Form
