Want to help others? The Public Services Department prepares students for careers in Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Fire Service and Social Work. In the Administration of Justice and Homeland Security programs, students prepare for careers in law enforcement, corrections, Transportation Security Administration and the legal system. The Fire Science Program teaches skills in fire safety, as well as preparing students for fire academy training and related technical careers. Both programs offer two-year degrees and certificates, equipping students to complete their bachelor’s degree, enter the workforce or advance in their current field.
Our Social Work awards prepare students for an entry-level position in the human services/social work field and for career advancement for those already employed in these occupations. Jobs may include case management, caregiver, advocate, and activities coordinator. Students learn the skills and knowledge necessary to transfer to upper-division programs in social work and human services. Students can earn either a two-year degree or a professional certification from this department setting them up for success in further study or professional and career development.
