Art and media are powerful vehicles for people to create, connect, communicate inform and entertain. In today’s world, art and media permeate every facet of life.
The Department of Visual and Media Arts offers Art, Film and Radio and Television programs with beginning, advanced and professional courses in each discipline. Introductory classes establish a technical and critical understanding of visual and media language and lead to more advanced studies in which students create and exhibit their work. Higher-level courses include fine art, studio art, digital media, graphic design, animation, film studies and production, and broadcast news, performance and production in radio and television.
All programs offer associate degrees and certificates, preparing students for a four-year college or university, entry-level work and/or professional advancement. Students graduate with a foundation to pursue careers as independent artists, producers or performers, as well as opportunities in numerous industries where creative skills are in demand.
