The COS Computer Lab provides additional support to students enrolled in COS courses by offering access to various software applications used in class. Each computer is equipped with programs such as VMware, Microsoft Office, and other tools required for COS computer courses (including COSN, CS, COSP, COSS, COSW, and COSA).

Please note: Software for courses outside the COS department is not available in this lab.

As always, please plan accordingly and arrive with plenty of time to receive assistance. Keep in mind this lab is NOT a library environment. Be ready to leave 10 minutes before closing time.

Study Center Rules

  • Students are only allowed to print material related to a COS class. Students who are interested in printing documents for non-related classes must utilize the print system in the Library.
  • Students are advised to use a USB drive or upload to their LBCC OneDrive account in order to save their work. Saving files temporarily onto the PCs in the lab is possible, but not recommended. All data will be wiped daily, and the remaining files may be accessible by other students.
  • Food, drinks, and snacks of any kind are not allowed in the COS Computer Lab.

An Active Environment 

Although we do not encourage loud noises in the COS Computer Lab, please note that it is an active environment where students and staff are working.

Logging In and Out 

Students are required to log in with their student ID and Viking password in order to use a computer. And must log off upon exiting the lab.

The Computer Lab offers typing certifications. Please contact the Computer & Office Studies Department for more info.
