LBCC Announces New Hall of Fame Inductees
An artistic director, a photographer, a musician, a civil servant, and an educator have been named as Long Beach City College’s 2020 Hall of Fame inductees, LBCC officials recently announced.
The 2020 Hall of Fame honorees are International City Theatre’s artistic director Caryn Desai; photographer Duke Givens; concert promoter/arts presenter John Malveaux; retired Long Beach Police Commander Charles Parks; and educator Cynthia Terry. Please click here for the full bios of the honorees.

The Long Beach Community College District (LBCCD) Board of Trustees will hold its Annual Reorganization of officers, Oath of Office and Regular Session meeting virtually on Monday, December 21, 2020.

Long Beach City College is now accepting applications to enroll in the 2021 Spring Semester.
LBCC’s Spring Semester will be held mostly online, with selected essential laboratory classes that will be held on campus under strict social distance and safety guidelines.

LBCC Celebrates Opening of New PCC Parking Structure
The four-level facility, funded by local taxpayers who supported the college’s bond measures, adds 530 PCC-convenient parking stalls and encourages energy efficiency with 33 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, 45 clean Air Vehicle parking spaces, rooftop solar panels and secured bicycle parking. An app in Android and Apple can be downloaded free to display real-time parking availability in the new structure. The project was completed ahead of schedule and $500,000 under budget.
LBCCD Appoints New Personnel Commissioner
The Board of Trustees Appointed Robyn Gordon-Peterson
The Long Beach Community College District Board of Trustees appointed Robyn Gordon-Peterson as their representative on the Long Beach City College Personnel Commission.
The Personnel Commission is comprised of three District residents who work with the governing board and College administrators in the hiring of District Classified Professional employees and establishing best practices in personnel administration.

Campaign for College Opportunity recognizes LBCC for Transfer Degree Conferrals
Long Beach City College (LBCC) has been named a 2020 Champion of Higher Education for the third time in four years by the Campaign for College Opportunity.
“LBCC is one of the top performers in Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) conferrals,” according to Michele Siqueiros, President of the Campaign for College Opportunity. “We are proud to recognize LBCC’s dedicated leadership in working to ensure a strong transfer pathway.”
