CIM Curriculum Camp: Training & Office Hours
Curriculum development at LBCC is moving to one central system: CourseLeaf CIM (Curriculum Inventory Management), where faculty develop, modify, review, and inactivate courses and programs and move proposals through the College’s curriculum approval process. CIM Training & Office Hours offers weekly drop-in support to get oriented, ask questions, and work through proposals with guidance.

Help your students succeed by encouraging them to visit the Multidisciplinary Success Center for Supplemental Learning Assistance, free tutoring, study spaces, academic materials, and more. Ways to connect students include inviting the MDSC for a short in-class orientation, adding their hours and contact info to your syllabus and Canvas, and referring individual students who may benefit from extra academic support. 3rd Annual September Showers
In honor of National Student Parent Month, CalWORKs, CARE, Basic Needs, and the Student Parenting Hub will host a campus-wide drive collecting items to support LBCC student parents and their children throughout September. Items to donate include:
ACCESS Shuttle Service – New Designated Drop-Off Locations
We are pleased to announce that the ACCESS Shuttle Service now offers designated drop-off locations to better serve our campus community. These locations are intended to improve convenience and accessibility for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Please use these designated locations when requesting shuttle transportation.
2026–2027 Staff Parking Permit Registration
It is time to register for the 2026–2027 Academic Year Staff Parking Permit, valid July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Please complete registration before parking on campus. Important reminders: only one vehicle may be parked on campus at a time, though multiple vehicles may be registered to one permit; Student Workers must obtain a Student Worker Parking Permit through their immediate supervisor; rental vehicle permits are valid for seven days and must be obtained before parking; and head-in parking only.
Mobile Food Pantry at TTC
Long Beach City College and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank invite families to a free monthly food distribution featuring fresh produce, canned goods, grains, and more. Events are held at the LBCC Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus, Lot 1, 1305 Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach. Upcoming 2026 pantry dates are October 27, and November 24. Viking Vault Now Open to Classified Employees
Beginning Fall 2026, classified employees are welcome to access the Viking Vault! This service expansion is in accordance with Assembly Bill (AB) 148 and remains in line with the mission of LBCC’s Basic Needs Programs to normalize and de-stigmatize the use of our resources and services. Access parameters for staff are the same as for students, with one exception: staff may visit the Viking Vault no more than two times per week.
Daily food limits remain the same for all visitors. Please follow the signage posted in the Viking Vault to know how much of each item you are allowed to take during your visit.

Anna Azarov, Bianca Berrios, David Julia Castro and Hannah Justesen
This exhibition brings together Anna Azarov, Bianca Berrios, David Julia Castro and Hannah Justesen whose practices investigate the emotional, political, and physical realities of inhabiting a body. Through painting, and expanded media, their work explores womanhood, queer identity, trauma, and the deeply personal relationship between inner experience and outward form. Collectively, Azarov, Berrios, Castro and Justesen translate intangible emotional states into a visual language, inviting viewers to move beyond observation.

Campus Safety Escort Program Reminder

The ITS Department has launched an updated Phone Directory on the LBCC website. All employees are encouraged to review and update their individual Directory Profile. You can make changes through the HR Employee System under the Personal Details tile. Step-by-step instructions are available on the Launch site here. In addition to individual listings, the directory includes department contact information. Please review your department’s listing in the current directory.

FREE Yoga is Back!
Join us for FREE yoga sessions every Wednesday from 12:00–1:00 PM, and continuing through the semester. Classes will be held in room Q117 (Small Gym) for the first three weeks of each month, then move outdoors to the Lawn for the final week. This class is free and open to all LBCC students and employees!

Omar Pimienta
The LBCC Art Gallery is pleased to present Sediment/o, an exhibition whose title is drawn from a poetry collection by featured artist Omar Pimienta. The exhibition continues Pimienta’s longstanding exploration of borders, migration, memory, and the layered realities of life in the U.S.–Mexico borderlands. Through photography, video, and installation, Pimienta brings language and lived experience into dialogue, offering a powerful meditation on migration, resilience, and the enduring marks left by human and nonhuman movement across borders.
