Join us for the Long Beach Big Band Concert in the new G Building Little Theater on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 7:30–9:00 p.m. The evening opens with a set by the LBCC Big Band, followed by a performance from the Long Beach Big Band (LBBB), a community group of local professional musicians co-directed by Pat Sheng and Michael Zilber. The LBCC Department of Music, Radio & Television and Associated Student Body proudly present Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bob and Barbara Ellis Auditorium, Long Beach. Featuring the LBCC Viking Chorale, Viking Singers, Soloists, and Orchestra, joined by the Golden West Community College Choir, under the direction of Roger Przytulski, Dr. Dawn Brooks, and Skye Angulo.

Urban Ecosystem: City of Synergy Fashion Show – Sat., May 30
The Fashion Design and Merchandising program proudly presents the 40th LBCC Fashion Show, Urban Ecosystem: City of Synergy, on Saturday, May 30 at the Bob and Barbara Ellis Auditorium, LAC. Conceptualized by students in the FASH 41 Fashion Promotion course, this year’s theme explores Long Beach as a dynamic ecosystem shaped by its diverse communities, cultures, and connections. Sponsored by the Fashion Club, the show will feature student-designed garments ranging from swimwear to elegant evening wear.
FOR CTE FACULTY: “Your Story = Your Superpower” Workshop
CTE Faculty: Join this free 60-minute workshop led by LBCC SBDC Director Brad Pollak, designed to help students build confidence and learn how to effectively tell their story during a job search or when running a business. Participants will learn the three steps to building their personal story, how to respond to common interview questions, and the three building blocks that shape the story of their business. Whether preparing for employment or entrepreneurship, this workshop will help students communicate their experiences and strengths with confidence.
Long Beach City College Gender Equity Survey
LBCC’s Commission on the Status of Women and Gender Equity (WAGE) is working to create and implement initiatives that strengthen the experience of staff, faculty, and the school community as a whole, as it relates specifically to gender equity. As a part of these efforts, LBCC has partnered with the Confluence Rising, formerly known as CCEJ, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and empower youth and adults to lead change for equity and justice in our communities.

Campus Safety Escort Program Reminder
The Campus Safety Escort Program is available to the campus community during the winter term, Monday through Friday, from 6 pm to 11 pm to provide a safe, reliable, and time-efficient way to get around campus during the evening. To request an escort, please call (562) 938-4100.
Action Needed: Update Your Profile for the Phone Directory
The ITS Department has launched an updated Phone Directory on the LBCC website. All employees are encouraged to review and update their individual Directory Profile. You can make changes through the HR Employee System under the Personal Details tile. Step-by-step instructions are available on the Launch site here. In addition to individual listings, the directory includes department contact information. Please review your department’s listing in the current directory.
