Plan Ahead for a Smooth Spring 2026 Registration: New Payment Policy

To support your academic journey, Long Beach City College is introducing a new payment policy for Spring 2026 that will help ensure a smoother registration experience for all students.

Key Points to Know About the New Policy
  • Registration Hold for Balances Over $750
Students who have a balance over $750 at the time of registration will have a hold placed on their account. This hold temporarily prevents registration until the balance is reduced or resolved.
  • Early Action Helps You Stay Enrolled
Taking care of your balance early can help you avoid registration delays or being dropped from classes. Planning ahead gives you the best chance to stay enrolled in the classes you need.
How to Avoid a Hold or Being Dropped from Classes

There are several ways to manage your balance and keep your registration on track:

  • Make a Payment
Pay your balance down to below $750 before the January 27, 2026, payment deadline to avoid a registration hold or being dropped from classes.
  • Set Up a Payment Plan
Payment plans allow you to spread your balance over smaller payments. Payment plans can be set up on the Nelnet website thru your Viking Student Portal.
  • Apply for Financial Aid
Financial Aid may help cover some or all of your charges. If you qualify, it can reduce your balance and help prevent a hold.
  • Explore Student Loan Options
Student loans are another option to help cover your balance. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.

Important Dates to Keep in Mind

  • Spring 2026 Registration Begins November 12, 2025
Be sure your balance is under $750 before registration opens to avoid a registration hold.

  • Spring 2026 Drop for Non-Payment Deadline: January 27, 2026
Ensure your balance is resolved by this date to prevent being dropped from your classes.
