Environmental Health & Safety

Environmental and Health and Safety Services (EHS) is a service department that exists to ensure a healthy and safe environment for District employees, students and other members of the campus community. EHS is responsible for the development and implementation of the injury and illness prevention plan, which incorporates programs and procedures designed to prevent injuries and minimize the impact to District operations on the natural environment. It is the goal of the EHS office to fulfill these responsibilities in a cost effective manner with minimal disruption to campus activities.

EHS is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the following areas and programs: Emergency Preparedness, Parking Services, Recycling, Regulatory Compliance, and Public Safety Services. EHS activities include responding to service requests, providing employee training, emergency response, accident investigation, workplace safety inspections, event-parking planning and coordination, parking enforcement.
