Upward Bound

The Upward Bound Program provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The goal of the Long Beach City College TRiO Upward Bound Program is to prepare high school students from the Long Beach Unified School District area as they enroll in and successfully complete a post-secondary education program. The Program accomplishes this objective by enhancing participants’ academic skills, personal motivation and confidence, needed to succeed in college. The LBCC TRiO Upward Bound works with students who are from low-income families and or are potentially the first generation in their families to attend college.

The LBCC TRiO Upward Bound works with low-income families (according to US Department of Education guidelines) or those who are potentially the first generation in their family to attend college.
