Supplemental Instruction

Overview

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a student success program that provides regular peer-led group study sessions for students in order to help improve their understanding of course material and increase the effectiveness of their study skills.  Students will compare and clarify lecture notes, develop organizational tools, and predict examination questions.

Supplemental Instruction provides support for courses that are identified as historically difficult, having low success and retention rates.  Statistics have shown that students who attend SI study sessions regularly are more likely to pass the class and often improve their grade by an entire letter or more.
