TRIO GO Project

The Long Beach City College Growth and Opportunities (GO) Project is a Student Support Services Project funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The GO Project is designed to increase the number of students with disabilities who transfer to four-year colleges and universities. The GO Project is a comprehensive program of academic support and personal development services for low-income, first-generation college, and disabled students to achieve retention and graduation rates that exceed that of the general student body. The GO Project serves as the campus home base for this group of students. The main principle of the project fosters and develops a supportive academic community and campus climate both within the project and with the college at large.

A major advantage of GO Project participation is the services and activities that are tailored to meet the specific individual needs of each student. These may include but are not limited to Academic & Transfer Counseling, assistance with college transfer, university campus visits, scholarship applications, tutoring, cultural enrichment and field trips, study and life skills workshops, Career & Life Counseling, financial education, and much more!
